The Gillette Wild are proud to announce that as of March 24, 2025, Wilson Anderle of Buffalo, Minnesota, has been named the team’s new head coach.
Anderle brings a wealth of hockey knowledge and experience to the Wild. A four-year varsity player and captain his senior year, he went on to play two years of junior hockey followed by four years of NCAA Division III hockey in Minnesota. Off the ice, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).
His career has included roles as both a strength and conditioning coach and a hockey skills coach before joining the Steel County Blades as an assistant coach, where he gained valuable experience coaching at a high level.
When asked about his coaching philosophy, Anderle shared:
“As a coach, my primary objective is to foster a positive, challenging, and growth-oriented environment for each player, focusing on developing both individual skills and team dynamics. I believe that hockey, at its core, is about teamwork, discipline, respect, and a passion for the game.”
In a recent interview with 3View season preview host Brittany Hart, Anderle expanded on his approach, emphasizing player development, teamwork and communication, mental toughness and resilience, respect for the game and each other, and, above all, a love for hockey.
Anderle expressed his excitement to lead the Wild and build on the program’s tradition of success both on and off the ice. “We have to honor the tradition that Gillette has set in the past,” he said. Confident in the foundation already in place, he highlighted the team’s strong community support, dedicated fans, and returning players as key factors in the program’s success. Looking ahead, Anderle plans to add accountability and structure to the organization to help take the Wild to the next level.
