Gillette forward Sky Solig was awarded the NA3HL Bauer Hockey Forward of the Month for the month of October, the league announced Wednesday. The Warroad, MN native recorded 20 points, scoring eight goals, two game winners, and added 12 assists in nine games.
In 14 games this season, Solig has totaled 25 points, scoring nine goals and assisting on 16 others. On three different occasions last month Solig collected at least four points in a contest: October 14th, a goal and four assists against Sheridan; October 21st, two goals and two assists against Great Falls; October 28th, a goal and three assists against Butte.
Defenseman Alec Waller was recognized with Defenseman of the Month Honorable Mention honors. The St Michael, MN product collected nine points, scoring three goals and assisting on six others, last month. In 14 games this season Waller has 13 points on five goals and eight assists.
Goalie Jake Turek was recognized with Goaltender of the Month Honorable Mention honors. The North Branch, MN native went 3-0-0-1 in four starts last month, stopping 134 -of-146 shots he faced. Turek is 4-0-0-1 on the season having stopped 162-of-174 (.931 SV%) on the season.
