xHelena rips xGillette, 6-1

The xGillette Wild had trouble finding ways to stop the xHelena Bighorns, which beat Wild, 6-1.

xHelena\’s penalty kill excelled, as the Bighorns gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays.

xHelena was led by Sebastian Hansson, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Hansson scored 17:08 into the first period to make the score 2-0 xHelena. Damon Hanson assisted on the tally.

The Bighorns made xGillette\’s goalies to work in net, ripping 49 shots and forcing 43 saves. Josh Beatty made 38 stops and Michael Kitts made five. xHelena cashed in on power play opportunities, scoring three goals on five chances. The Bighorns got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

xHelena also got points from Logan Henne, who also had one goal and one assist and Austin Buckholtz, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for xHelena included John Bonta, John Petersson, and Kyle Baker, who scored one goal each. More assists for xHelena came via Parker Olson, who had two and Dylan Webster, Corbin Belling, Brandt Miller, Ryan Webber, and Sam Bratten, who contributed one a piece.

The Wild were held below their usual level of production. xGillette puts an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game.

xGillette also got a goal from Alex King as well. Other players who recorded assists for xGillette were Brandon Miller and Andrii Istominov, who each chipped in one.

Alek Lazarski rejected 19 shots on goal for xHelena. The Bighorns incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Wild incurred 32 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
