Wild Skills Clinic

Jan 1, 2012

Gillette, WY- Wild Jr. Hockey players and staff came to to the ice early Friday afternoon to run a skill clinic for the local Gillette Hockey Association. Sixteen players, varying from Squirts to Bantams, arrived to get a tune up on their skills. Skill levels varied, but the Jr. Wild staff made sure the basics were taught. Working on over-speed skating, puck protection, and small area games, Wild staff felt that they were able to teach the things in our game that remain the same, no matter what age level the player was at. Each player was then outfitted with a ticket to Friday nights home game to watch the Wild skate to victory 6-4 over the visiting Bozeman Icedogs. Coach Winkler, "We enjoying doing these types of things for the local youth and will continue to this in the near future."
