Thompson's big night helped the Wild crush the Icedogs 6-2

Gage Thompson had a big night with 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists) as the Gillette Wild crushed the Bozeman Icedogs 6-2 in a home game at Spirit Hall Ice Arena in Gillette. Besides, the Gillette Wild's offense had a big night, peppering Bozeman with 41 shots throughout the game. The Gillette Wild took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Nick Stockert.

Brooks Mitzel delivered for his team with 2 goals and Russell Conti did his part, adding 3 assists. Cade Hanley chipped in with 2 assists.

In the first period, Thompson opened the scoring for the Wild with a goal at 1:44 with a helper from his linemate Hanson. Blatter answered for the Icedogs with a goal at 18:23 with helpers from Mcgarrah and Hanley.

In the second, Mitzel answered for Gillette with a goal at 11:54 with assists from his linemates, Prewett and Thompson. Stockert quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 12:10 with helpers from Peterson and Conti. Patten answered for Bozeman with a goal at 17:27 with an assist from his defensive partner, Hanley.

In the third period, Mitzel answered for Gillette with a goal at 8:38 with a helper from his teammate Thompson. Walters quickly followed with a goal at 9:56 with an assist from defenseman Conti. Thompson netted a goal at 17:11 with a helper from defenseman Conti.

The Wild’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Grogan’s big night as he stopped 34 of the 36 shots he faced. Grogan’s counterpart, Carlson, also had a big night, managing to stop 35 of 41, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Gillette Wild’s record to (19-19-2-2).
