Kelley leads Gillette to shutout victory over Yellowstone

The Gillette Wild used a sparkling performance by Sean Kelley to take down the Yellowstone Quake, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Gillette's 2-0 shutout victory.

 

The Wild were led by Dalton McCann, who tallied one goal. McCann scored 2:05 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Gillette. Will Fobair provided the assist.

Gillette racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and two majors for 32 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 25.0 minutes per game the Wild had been spending in the box. Gillette excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Wild's defensive effort looked to be improved. Gillette gives up 2.7 goals on average per game. The Wild's offense rang up 56 shots on Yellowstone's net.

Gillette also got a goal from Alex King as well. More assists for Gillette came via Brandon MillerAndrii Istominov, and Brandon Castleberry, who each chipped in one.
