Johnson Commits to MSOE

Tyler Johnson (Gillette, WY) has made an official committment to NCAA Division III Milwaukee School of Engineering. MSOE plays out of the recently reformed NCHA conference. Tyler marks the 2nd Wild player to attend this school, as he follows former teammate Casey Moneer (Goose Creek, SC) to this engineering school. 

Coach Winkler and his staff are very happy for Tyler. Winkler stated "Tyler has excelled not only on the ice but in the classroom as well. He has earned this oportunity at Milwaukee School of Engineering and we as an organization are extremely proud of him and his accomplishments."

Tyler, who won 2 WAHL State Championships as a captain of the Gillette High School Hockey program, marks the first local member of the Wild Junior Team to earn a spot on a NCAA team. Since graduating as saluditorian of Campbell County High School in 2011, Tyler has spent his time away from the rink taking a rigorous schedule of college credits at Gillette College the past two seasons; all while putting up impressive numbers in the always tough American West Hockey League.

Tyler marks the 1st player off of the 2012-13 squad to make an official committment to a school. Stay tuned as the Wild expect more announcments fom this years team to follow.
